Based above a long standing health food shop in the centre of Halifax lies Ginger, the first Vegetarian Cafe in the area to be accepted into the food and drink guild.

Owned and run by two committed Vegetarians, this venture, which opened in October 2008, aims to transform the provision for Vegetarians in the region with a new take on classic dishes with modern twists.

The owners have 18 years cheffing and 10 years health food and nutritional experience between them and are determined to provide the greatest quality possible without breaking the bank.

"We believe that Vegetarians deserve more than the quiche and omelette standard we've been offered in the past. We are striving to provide a number of dishes with a variety of influences, from twists on classics like the humble sausage and mash on our ever changing specials board, to menu staples like Halloumi Salad.
